Door Awning & Clear Flap Door: The door awning improves rain/snow protection and includes a gasket to eliminate any water weepage around the edges. The clear flap door is designed to repel wind and help keep heat inside the Kitty Tube during cold weather seasons. The clear flap door can be installed and removed easily without tools. NOTE: The door awning set is also available for all older model Kitty Tubes with a logo. See separate listing.

Vent Cap & Gasket: The vent cap was created to eliminate moisture laden air that can build up under the top lid. This moisture laden air can cause condensation in certain temperature swings. The vent cap serves the same purpose as the vents on the roof of your own home that expel excessive moisture in the winter and heat in the summer. The vent cap is very important in maintaining a dry interior for your cat. NOTE: This cap is also sold separately to install on all older model Kitty Tubes and will greatly improve its performance. A 1½ inch hole is needed on the top dead center of the lid to install. We recommend using a standard 1½ inch hole saw to make this hole.

Main Insulation with Scratch Guard™: This insulation set will cover the walls, floor and ceiling of The Kitty Tube. The Kitty Tube Scratch Guard™ and vapor proof insulation is easy to remove and clean. The new Scratch Guard™ material on all interior surfaces is moisture proof, mold proof, mildew proof and bacteria proof. Deodorizing and sanitizing of the interior is now a breeze, as cat urine or spray from a male cat will not soak into the Scratch Guard™. The Scratch Guard™ material will virtually eliminate damage from clawing and will considerably reduce condensation from forming in cold temperatures.

Ventilation Hand Hole Awnings: The Kitty Tube includes awnings that protect the handle/ventilator holes in the lid from rain and snow. These awnings also provide a comfortable handle when removing the lid or moving the Kitty Tube.

About our 1 door design: The unique door design provides easy passage for your cat, but will not allow a predator like dogs or coyotes to get to your cat. The Kitty Tube was intentionally designed with only one door. There are several reasons for this design:

With one door, the exceptionally insulated Kitty Tube will retain the majority of the heat your cat produces inside, compared to other designs with two doors that allow excessive air movement through the shelter.
One door will keep your cat safe and secure as predators cannot fit their head inside the unique door design of The Kitty Tube. Most small animals such as possums or raccoons are generally not a life threatening danger to your cat.
We feel it is a misconception to provide a second door for an escape in case of a predator attack. If your cat leaves their safe haven of The Kitty Tube, it is now vulnerable to be caught by predators. Predators such as dogs and coyotes know how to catch a fleeing cat.
Most kittens born inside of a Kitty Tube are NOT moved as usual by their mother, as they feel safe inside!

The Kitty Tube comes complete with a fully insulated shell, a removable top lid, custom pet pillow, a main door awning with removable clear flap door, a vent cap for the top lid, a rubber plug for the optional heater hole and 2 hand hole awnings to protect the top ventilation holes.

This is the 2nd kitty tube I have purchased. I gave 1 to my neighbor and her new cat loves it! The delivery was very quick. Communication from seller has been amazing both times. This is very good quality and I think the best in coldest of temps and snow. I will likely purchase another as soon as I am able to.

Exactly what Woolybear needed!

We have a community cat that has decided that our backyard is his home. Using a makeshift shelter, we soon realized that something sturdier and warmer was needed after the last snowy windstorm. Kitty Tube is the perfect solution! Woolybear started using it the first day....with a little catnip sprinkled on the pillow to peek his interest. Thank you for creating this shelter for our furry friends!

Don't wait another day--buy this!

Last winter we set up a cobbled together shelter for the neighborhood feral cat. It definitely was not enough for our harsh Midwestern winters. In early October '22, we discovered and purchased The Kitty Tube Gen 4 with the heating pad, oat straw, and double insulation option for the cold months. If you are thinking about buying this, don't wait another day--do it! It took about 3 weeks for the cat to feel comfortable sticking his head inside. I think he would have used it sooner but I introduced it while the weather was still nice. I carefully assisted this along in Week 3 by putting a small bit of soft cat food on a jar lid and setting it just inside the entry. I removed the empty lid each time immediately after he licked it clean and left the vicinity or if he didn't show up on schedule. This is important so that you don't attract ants or other creatures. Each day, I put the lid a little further inside until the day came I saw the cat go in on his own. We found a fairly protected spot next to the south side of our house. We turned the entrance so it is angled a bit towards our wall to keep out the worst of the winds because we get storms that come in from every direction. The oat straw that was left over from being placed inside of The Kitty Tube, was piled in a bowl shape in front of the entrance. The cat frequently suns himself on the straw outside when the weather is nice and it also helps to keep out tracked in mud. In fact, I'm here to buy more of that straw because it is such high quality. I've noticed that the cat and a large opossum have some sort of time-share arrangement where the possum takes over and has a heated break-room for a couple hours in the evening now winter has set in. However, the cat returns and is inside The Kitty Tube every morning sound asleep at sunrise. The cat also is in and out of it during the day, especially on colder days. I did purchase a weatherproof water-resistant extension cord connection box to protect the electrical connection from the heating pad to the outdoor extension cord we use to power it. We're very grateful for this ingenious cat shelter because we can go for weeks on end during the winter without getting above the freezing mark and windchills are deadly. It is nice to know we've been able to help this feral kitty have a much more comfortable and, hopefully, longer life.

Just purchased two for feral enclosure and emergency outside cattery at our shelter. Great construction, very easy to put together. Cats went right inside. Love this product! Thank you for such a well thought of design to keep these precious kitties warm on cold nights.

Best Cat House! Will Last Forever!

I have 4 of these for my stray cats. Doesn't get any better than this. I also bought the heating pads last winter and I'm sure the cats are living an even better life now. Wasn't expecting my 4th one to be delivered for 2 weeks but it arrived in 2 days which I really appreciated. A bit expensive but they are indestructible and basically maintenance free. We take the lids off every couple weeks and make sure everything is good. My first one is around 3 years old and you can't tell which one is which. These will last forever.

Works well to keep cats warm, until a raccoon made it’s way in. My feral now wants nothing to do with it. In search of something else to keep her warm this winter.
