Door Awning & Clear Flap Door: The door awning improves rain/snow protection and includes a gasket to eliminate any water weepage around the edges. The clear flap door is designed to repel wind and help keep heat inside the Kitty Tube during cold weather seasons. The clear flap door can be installed and removed easily without tools. NOTE: The door awning set is also available for all older model Kitty Tubes with a logo. See separate listing.

Vent Cap & Gasket: The vent cap was created to eliminate moisture laden air that can build up under the top lid. This moisture laden air can cause condensation in certain temperature swings. The vent cap serves the same purpose as the vents on the roof of your own home that expel excessive moisture in the winter and heat in the summer. The vent cap is very important in maintaining a dry interior for your cat. NOTE: This cap is also sold separately to install on all older model Kitty Tubes and will greatly improve its performance. A 1½ inch hole is needed on the top dead center of the lid to install. We recommend using a standard 1½ inch hole saw to make this hole.

Main Insulation with Scratch Guard™: This insulation set will cover the walls, floor and ceiling of The Kitty Tube. The Kitty Tube Scratch Guard™ and vapor proof insulation is easy to remove and clean. The new Scratch Guard™ material on all interior surfaces is moisture proof, mold proof, mildew proof and bacteria proof. Deodorizing and sanitizing of the interior is now a breeze, as cat urine or spray from a male cat will not soak into the Scratch Guard™. The Scratch Guard™ material will virtually eliminate damage from clawing and will considerably reduce condensation from forming in cold temperatures.

Ventilation Hand Hole Awnings: The Kitty Tube includes awnings that protect the handle/ventilator holes in the lid from rain and snow. These awnings also provide a comfortable handle when removing the lid or moving the Kitty Tube.

About our 1 door design: The unique door design provides easy passage for your cat, but will not allow a predator like dogs or coyotes to get to your cat. The Kitty Tube was intentionally designed with only one door. There are several reasons for this design:

With one door, the exceptionally insulated Kitty Tube will retain the majority of the heat your cat produces inside, compared to other designs with two doors that allow excessive air movement through the shelter.
One door will keep your cat safe and secure as predators cannot fit their head inside the unique door design of The Kitty Tube. Most small animals such as possums or raccoons are generally not a life threatening danger to your cat.
We feel it is a misconception to provide a second door for an escape in case of a predator attack. If your cat leaves their safe haven of The Kitty Tube, it is now vulnerable to be caught by predators. Predators such as dogs and coyotes know how to catch a fleeing cat.
Most kittens born inside of a Kitty Tube are NOT moved as usual by their mother, as they feel safe inside!

New Gen 4 Design Kitty Tube

We are very impressed with these tubes! (We ordered 3). They were delivered in a couple of days! My husband put them together in no time. He tells it like it is, and he said that they are very well made, he liked everything about them, and I agree. We have 3 ferals that we have been feeding for 2-3 years. (Gracie, Buckwheat and Lily). We had 4, but we took in/adopted (Romeo) 2 years ago come December after we nursed him back to health. He is the most affectionate of our 2, the other is Rocky, we rescued him from a litter born outside, after saving him, his 3 sisters and his momma. All are in loving homes. That was 7 years ago. We also have 2 rescue dogs. A tiny chihuahua/pomeranian mix (Allie) She is 8 yrs old, we adopted her at 3 . We also have a tiny Pomeranian (Prince) that we just rescued 6 months ago. They think he is 3 years old, but we think he is much younger, he is like having a puppy! So, we have our hands full, that's for sure. Lol! But we love them all inside & outside! We have always made homemade shelters. This kitty tube is something we have dreamed of! Love that it is plastic, (heavy duty at that) and had a pre-made hole for the heating pad. I would have loved to order the custom made heat pads from your company also, but was told they have been on backorder since September and no ship date was in sight. So, I had to purchase elsewhere, and drill the pre-made hole a bit larger for the larger cord. But, I did order the custom made pillows, and they are gorgeous! I was planning on using them only in the summer, but I ended up putting them under the heated pads for extra comfort. So far, only 1 of the 3 strays (Buckwheat) has been using one of the tubes, but hopefully, the others will catch on, maybe when the weather gets worse.? One of the cats that was going into our homemade shelter last year,(Gracie) is the one that's avoiding it this year, so I am very surprised. Maybe because we moved them to a more secluded location. The cat I thought would probably not go in, or take longer, (Buckwheat) was the 1st to try it, and now he is always going in and out of it, no problem. I put treats in the other 2 tubes to lure the 2 scaredy cats, but they are just taking their time and making sure it is safe. I think once they see Buckwheat going in and out so much, they will catch on. (fingers crossed). Honestly, I almost ordered "wooden" shelters from another site, but I think it would hold odors/smells, and would rot over time, and would not be as easy to clean and keep clean as plastic. Now..... can you do us a great big favor and look into making a feeding station? Lol! We are still making homemade ones, and it's difficult to keep stable, and have an extended roof, to keep cats dry, while they eat, not just keep the food dry. I could certainly order one online, but too expensive and they are made out of wood also, which I am not fond of. Well, sorry I went on and on, but I just had so much to say, and wanted to let you know how happy and pleased we are with your wonderful product. Keep up the good work! I love this outdoor cat shelter!

This is by far the best outdoor cat shelter I have found! I am currently caring for 16 "community cats." I first bought one for a mother cat and her three kittens. Mom took to it right away. It stays very dry even with heavy rainfall, and it keeps them warm with the onset of cooler weather. I recently bought another Kitty Tube, and it is rarely vacant. I like that the opening is too small for raccoons and coyotes to get into. It offers great protection against the elements and potential predators. I plan to buy another one in the near future.

Greetings from Union County, NC! I am a colony manager for feral cats in our area. This is the second Kitty Tube I purchased for our feral cat population. The Kitty Tube is easy to assemble, clean, and move if needed. Do not have any doubts about this product. Your cat (s) will use it. In my 10-years of caring for feral cats I have come to the conclusion that I put out shelters not only for their use but for my piece of mind knowing they have somewhere to rest. Yes, there are other products out there that are less expensive, but the Kitty Tube is worth the money spent! Do not be upset if they do not use it immediately. Remember, they are cats and will do what they want, when they want. The important thing to remember is you are providing them with a high quality shelter.

The Amazing Kitty Tube

The Kitty Tube is excellent, and it is well insulated. A great deal of thought went in to the design of this shelter. I don’t know of anything else like it on the market. It is very easy to set up, and very easy to clean and adapt for the seasons. I shelter a male and female feral on my patio, and they love it. I actually bought a second Kitty Tube, but they prefer bunking together. If you have electricity available, I definitely recommend the heating pad. They love that, too. Here in the Midwest, we just had two weeks of zero and sub-zero temps. In addition to the heating pad, I did have a heat disc plugged in outside the shelter, and a remote thermometer. With the heat pad and disc, it stayed a good 20 plus degrees above the outside at those very cold temps. The Kitty Tube family customer service is excellent. The Kitty Tube makes it easy for me to shelter these kitties, I love it, and they love it. This American family does it right! Highly recommend.
