Product Overview

Welcome to The New Generation of The Kitty Tube™

Introducing GENERATION 4!

Here at The Kitty Tube™ we are always thinking about the safety and well-being of your kitty.

With that in mind, we've taken Gen 3's vapor proof barrier and lid vent cap, and added our exclusive flow-through foam layer.

Gen 3's features + Gen 4's innovations = The driest kitty on the block!

The new features of Generation 4 include:

l 15% thicker bottom insulation than the previous model

l  Insulation is elevated off the bottom of The Kitty Tube to keep it higher off the cold ground

l  Specialized flow-through foam layer is now placed under the bottom insulation of The Kitty Tube

l  The flow through bottom layer prevents all moisture caused by condensation from ever reaching bedding

l  The new and improved drainage system eliminates moisture out of the bottom of the shelter

The Kitty Tube is Guaranteed to keep the weather out and is simply the highest quality insulated outdoor cat house on the market today!

The Kitty Tube with Straw comes with:

  • Door Awning & Clear Flap Door: The door awning improves rain/snow protection and includes a gasket to eliminate any water weepage around the edges. The clear flap door is designed to repel wind and helps to keep heat inside the Kitty Tube during cold weather seasons. The clear flap door can be installed and removed easily without tools. NOTE: The door awning set is also available for all older model Kitty Tubes with a logo. See separate listing.

  • Vent Cap & Gasket: The vent cap was created to eliminate moisture laden air that can build up under the top lid. This moisture laden air can cause condensation in certain temperature swings. The vent cap serves the same purpose as the vents on the roof of your own home that expel excessive moisture in the winter and heat in the summer. The vent cap is very important in maintaining a dry interior for your cat. NOTE: This cap is also sold separately to install on all older model Kitty Tubes and will greatly improve its performance. A 1½ inch hole is needed on the top dead center of the lid to install. If retrofitting an older Kitty Tube, a standard 1 ½” hole saw is needed to make a hole for the vent cap.
  • Main Insulation with Scratch Guard™: This insulation set will cover the walls, floor and ceiling of The Kitty Tube. The Kitty Tube Scratch Guard™ and vapor proof insulation is easy to remove and clean. The new Scratch Guard™ material on all interior surfaces is moisture proof, mold proof, mildew proof and bacteria proof. Deodorizing and sanitizing of the interior is now a breeze, as cat urine or spray from a male cat will not soak into the Scratch Guard™.  The Scratch Guard™ material will virtually eliminate damage from clawing and will considerably reduce condensation from forming in cold temperatures.
  • Ventilation Hand Hole Awnings: The Kitty Tube includes awnings that protect the handle/ventilation holes in the lid from rain and snow. These awnings also provide a comfortable handle when removing the lid or moving the Kitty Tube.

The Feral Option Kitty Tube comes with straw. Straw is the preferred bedding for feral cats as it resists moisture and retains body heat as the cats can burrow into the straw. This option is recommended by most Cat Rescue Groups.

The Kitty Tube provides a safe, economical and maintenance free shelter for your cat. Designed for outdoor use, The Kitty Tube is fully insulated to be ultra warm in the winter. The shell is partially made from post-consumer recycled milk and detergent bottles making the Kitty Tube a very green product AND The Kitty Tube is MADE IN THE USA!

The Kitty Tube has a removable top lid, is seamless in construction and is environmentally friendly due to the post consumer recycled content. The one piece construction provides for a smooth interior which is easily cleaned with a simple spray of the garden hose. The dome lid keeps your pet dry in even the heaviest of rains. The geometric shape resists wind and is naturally preferred by cats. The high quality, fully insulated Kitty Tube is strongly recommended for all outdoor cats and also creates a safe and secure haven if your cat is to give birth.

About our 1 door design: The unique door design provides easy passage for your cat, but will not allow a predator like dogs or coyotes to get to your cat.  The Kitty Tube was intentionally designed with only one door.  There are several reasons for this design:

  • With one door, the exceptionally insulated Kitty Tube will retain the majority of the heat your cat produces inside, compared to other designs with two doors that allow excessive air movement through the shelter.
  • One door will keep your cat safe and secure as predators cannot fit their head inside the unique door design of The Kitty Tube. Most small animals such as possums or raccoons are generally not a life threatening danger to your cat.
  • We feel it is a misconception to provide a second door for an escape in case of a predator attack.  If your cat leaves their safe haven of The Kitty Tube, it is now vulnerable to be caught by predators. Predators such as dogs and coyotes know how to catch a fleeing cat.
  • Most kittens born inside of a Kitty Tube are NOT moved as usual by their mother, as they feel safe inside!

    Relief, at last!

Posted by pat on 29th Oct 2013

For years I have constructed waterproof, lined shelters for the feral cats in the neighborhood and worried each night as the sun set. This year three kittens appeared and my anxiety increased. After reading the reviews for the Kitty Tube, I ordered one. It arrived the day of the first frost and immediately had a resident. I plan on moving it closer to the electrical outlet when the heater arrives. Raccoons roam and feed at night in the backyards, but so far the kittens are warm and protected. The design and quality of this product are SUPERB! My arthritic hands had trouble with the awning, but with some neighborly help the Kitty Tube was in place in less than 30 minutes. If the first youngster doesn't share with its siblings, I will definitely order another one.

    Eases OUR minds...

Posted by MKC on 25th Oct 2013

With winter approaching, we were worried about Boo - a stray who adopted us over the summer, and who doesn't like to come indoors. We shopped for pet houses and decided on the Kitty Tube because of its insulation and heating pad. For the first couple of weeks, Boo ignored it, but after we realized he preferred sleeping in a dirt-filled planter or on the mulch in the flowerbed, we replaced the pillow with straw. He climbed in, scratched around, curled up and went to sleep. He emerges from it every morning and most afternoons when we go out to feed him, so we're sure he's using it. The temperature here recently dropped into the low 40s/upper 30s overnight, but we no longer wonder if he has a warm, safe place to sleep. We're SO glad we have the Kitty Tube. It's sturdy, light enough to move easily, and easily cleaned. We highly recommend it.

    Couldn't Be Happier!

Posted by Liz Schneider on 21st Oct 2013

We couldn't be more please with the kitty tube. Smokey showed up about 2 months ago and we weren't sure if he was feral. We wanted to make sure he had shelter, especially before winter starts. I bought it all, the tube with pillow, electric heating pad and the snuggle pad that you microwave. He loves it (at least we think he's a he). Until we find out he's ok to come inside he's got great warm shelter for now. Couldn't ask for more.

Excellent invention for outdoor cat lovers

Posted by Beverly Stenger on 20th Oct 2013

Excellent idea. Love the removable top feature. Can easily clean, rearrange blanket etc. Insulation feature also good for use on concrete so cold does not wick up into the kitty hut. Cannot remember how I stumbled onto your product, but I am so happy I did.

    Wonderful product

Posted by Stephanie on 15th Oct 2013

It is starting to freeze outside and one of the cats (feral) loves it. She stays in it all the time. I have several setups on the deck and front yard and some of them make my front and back appear to be a tenement house. The kitty Tube makes it look decent out there among the bushes. The test will come in the snow. I have several heated houses for the feral cats (I have three more moving in) The raccoons roaming around don't seem to bother the cats.

Perfect for ferals in a coyote zone

Posted by Jane on 11th Oct 2013

I think the feral cats I take care of are now as safe as they can be from the coyotes in the area. And, they will be warm, dry, and happy. :) It's very sturdy and well made; the cats got into it within hours and use it every day. It was easy to set up except the awning needed more hand strength than I have; a hammer worked fine. I've been trying to find a better feral shelter for a long time and the Kitty Tube is it. I'm completely happy with it. And, it was delivered within a few days. :)

    The cat won't come out

Posted by Mary Meyer on 9th Oct 2013

I received the Kitty Tube yesterday and both cats (Ray the indoor and Warren the outdoor) went right in. Now Ray won't come out of it--he loves it. The cushion is nice and plush. The whole thing is simple and sturdy with cool features like the openings that serve as handles or vents that can be closed when weather requires. It's super-cozy because of the small door, and I like the rain awning. The price is right (I shopped out others) and the shape is perfect for 2 curled up cats. It's going to be easy to wash out, too. Buy it.

Top of the Line and Cat Approved

Posted by Sonja Price on 7th Oct 2013

We have two stray/feral cats we have been taking care of the last couple of years. It has been so windy and wet here in Oregon that they are struggling more this year than normally, so we ordered one Kitty Tube for them to try out. It took less than a day for one to claim it for himself and now he won't share. When I tried to interview him about his opinion of his new home he wouldn't even come out ... he loves it that much. Now it looks like the other poor fellow will have to wait until we order him one of his own, but I promise him it won't be long. I would highly recommend this cat house for any stray/feral who is lucky enough to have a human who cares.

    Best shelter for Feral Cats!

Posted by Susan Rosenberg on 4th Oct 2013

The Kitty Tube is fantastic! It stays cool inside on warm days and warm inside on colder days. I only have a few feral cats that have decided to move into my yard when I built a fence. They love the Kitty Tube and it was so easy for me to get and set up. The design blends into the environment and none of our neighbors even know there are cats or the shelter. I highly recommend the Kitty Tube!
